Some leaked more than others (always from the negative end). The amount of time and aggravation I experienced is worth more to me than the lower price provided. When I first received them and only visually inspected most of them, they looked fine.
As weeks went by, additional batteries leaked and became corroded. New top grade batteries were stored next to these with no problems at all. I checked the batteries previously installed in devices that were being used only infrequently and the mechanism, in most cases, had become corroded by the batteries or the batteries had become corroded but had not yet effected the device.I kept no statistics on these batteries unfortunately, but my educated guess is that less than 15% of the entire package performed as I could reasonably expect.
My experience with these batteries, both AA & AAA, over almost a year is awful. These are the only batteries I have ever used that had completely dead ones right out of the box. As one previous reviewer has stated, I don't understand why Amazon keeps this product in their listings.I did discover that WD-40 does a good job of neutralizing battery acid and requires just minor cleanup.
Over a period of five or six weeks, 50% of them were corroded. Of the remaining batteries, many tested less than half charged and when these were tried in electronic devices anyway, they either did not work or became depleted almost immediately.
A brand new set of AA Alkaline batteries would be very lucky to have enough power for 50 pictures; the proprietary rechargeable lithium-ion batteries many cameras use are good for hundreds and hundreds of pictures.Yes, you can use that space-saver spare on your car in a pinch, but I wouldn't recommend taking a vacation on it. But if you read the manual that came with your camera, you'll find they suggest more powerful batteries (like lithium or rechargeable NiMh) for best results. The current draw for the LCD screen in a digital camera is high and alkaline batteries just aren't up to the task. I've used these batteries from Amazon in the past and I'd say they are at least 80% as powerful as the name brands (Duracell/Energizer). Same thing with alkaline batteries in your digital camera. But I see a lot of people complaining about the life of these batteries in their digital cameras, and I think that if you're buying these (or ANY alkaline battery) for a digital camera, you're going to be disappointed. If you do the math, they are still a good value at 20-25ยข compared to the big brands. Yes, they will work (briefly).
And in this case, the short battery life cancels out the low price per battery. These batteries are cheap, in every sense of the word. It isn't about how many batteries you get for your dollar; it's about how long your CD player will run on a dollar's worth of batteries.
I highly recommend them. I use them for my son's toys and other gadgets. These batteries are the best deal I found so far. I purchased the 40 pack, but next time I'll probably get the 100 pack. However, for my tactical gear I use Sanyo Eneloops.Best there is. I saw in some reviews that some of the batteries have low power, but so far I have not found any low powered ones. So far they work great.
Why Amazon allows the sale of this garbage on it's web site is beyond me. I also noticed that when the batteries allow the electronic device to start, they are depleted very quickly. Don't waste your money. I bought the UltraLast Alkaline AA Batteries and I should have known that you get what you pay for.I just used 2 "new" batteries in my camera and immediately got a low battery signal. Tried 2 more "new" ones and got the same signal.
